In Skurup, there are about 100 non-profit associations that are listed in the records of the Leisure and Recreational Services Office. They represent a wide spectrum of activities, ranging from weaving, scouting and village community associations to motocross, athletic sports and boxing.

Focus on young people

All citizens are entitled to have access to a rich choice of meaningful leisure activities. However, activities for young people aged 6–25 years are given priority. This category also gets the most subsidies and is given the best training hours in the sports facilities.

Modern facilities

The Municipality of Skurup has invested a lot of money in modern buildings and facilities, thereby creating good conditions for practising different kinds of sports. Facilities that are not publicly owned can get considerable subsidies from the Municipality.
